Umru DJing live on the first IF IT FITS IT SHIPS

NYC-based 20-year-old producer umru appeared almost out of nowhere in the pop music world with his first production credit on Charli XCX's landmark 2017 mixtape Pop 2, recruited at 18 by PC Music founder A. G. Cook to co-produce one of the mixtape's highlight tracks, ‘I Got It'. The release quickly brought umru from high school and the Soundcloud beat scene to DJ sets at Charli XCX's tour afterparties across the US and Europe and collaborations with some of pop music's most experimental and forward-thinking acts. The release of his debut EP search result on PC Music revealed his strength in merging intense, bass-heavy production with both catchy and melancholy performances from a talented lineup of underground pop vocalists including Laura Les and Lewis Grant. The EP was followed by three sold out 'search party' events across the US. umru's most recent production work includes XCX's 2019 album Charli and Dorian Electra's debut album Flamboyant. umru's music has been heard on BBC Radio 1 and Beats 1 Radio and featured on Billboard, Paper Magazine and Hypebeast, his style being described as “boundary-pushing” and “insanely addictive.”
